I love summer for so many reasons, one of which is the farmer’s markets are back! It makes a huge difference to the taste of food when it’s fresh picked and organic, and meeting the people who grow the fruit and vegetables is such a treat 🙂 #FarmToTable is delicious
I made a few recipes for dinner using a number of the ingredients I bought from the West End market. My two favourites were the string beans and the meatless tacos. Try ’em out!
String Bean Stir Fry:
1 tbsp coconut oil
3 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
1 lbs of heirloom, multi-coloured string beans (or more if you’ve got a lot of people to feed)
1 tbsp raw honey
2 tbsp Bragg’s
1 tsp chilli flakes
sesame seeds to finish (optional)
This one is super easy. Heat the oil in a frying pan then add the garlic. Let it sauté for about a minute, then add in the string beans. Let them sauté until they soften a bit. Add honey, Bragg’s and chilli flakes to make the sauce. Just keep cooking this together until the beans reach a texture you like to bite, then you can finish hem off by adding sesame seeds, or you can eat it as is.
I’ll do the Meatless Tacos in another post so you can search the recipes more easily in the future.
