What’s worse than bland, boiled brussel sprouts? Not much.
When I was a kid I really hated those little green brains – I would say they smelled like farts 😛
Now I realize that they just weren’t cooked with the best spices and methodology (sorry mom). One of my dearest friends, who happens to be a nutritionist, gave me a great recipe that I added on to a bit.
Give this a try and tell me what you think!
2 lbs small brussel sprouts (any that are larger than a quarter, cut in half)
1.5 Tbsp olive oil (I used truffle infused – yum!)
half a lemon (juiced)
1-2 tsp chilli flakes
salt to taste
1) Preheat the oven to 375F.
2) Spread the brussel sprouts on a baking pan (one layer thick). Drizzle with oil, lemon juice, chilli flakes and salt.
3) Toss and stir it all up to make sure each one is well coated then put the pan in the oven for about 30 minutes. Depending on the size of your brussel sprouts, they might need a bit shorter or longer so start checking them after about 20 minutes.
4) When they look a little shrivelled and nicely browned, remove and enjoy these delicious morsels 😀
